Our town, the City of Los Banos, California, has just completed construction of a large complex of 1,2, and 3 bedroom affordable apartments for families in three income categories:  very low income, low income, and moderate income, and it is scheduled to open in January.  Another such complex is scheduled for construction beginning later in the year, and we think this will go a long way towards helping to solve the housing problem in our part of the state.  I like to think that this is what our tax dollars should be used for, and I certainly support development such as this.  One thing that we DON’T want to see is for this development to be referred to as “the projects.”  It ISN’T!  It’s affordable housing for people who otherwise would be homeless.
