Bonnie Perry was never a strong candidate, as reflected in the votes on the first three ballots. The diocese went for “centrist” Prior+, to whom of course the adjective “centrist” can only be applied after consideration of the departure of all of the most strident of the orthodox for other pastures. Prior+ is well on board with the current direction of The Episcopal Church.
