A Prayer for the Study of Sacred Scripture

Posted by Kendall Harmon

O Lord, thy holy Word is before us; open to us its sacred truths, and enable us to receive it, not as the word of men, but as the Word of God which liveth and abideth for ever. Be thou, O blessed Spirit, our teacher. Enlighten our minds and prepare our hearts. Bring home some portion to our souls, and thus make us wise unto salvation; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

At times like this, when I am so busy that I seem to have forgotten how to pray, it is so inspiring to read a meaningful prayer like this. Thank you for posting it.
