Lexington’s Christ Church Episcopal names ex-National Cathedral leader as dean, rector

The Rev. Canon Carol L. Wade, former canon precentor at the National Cathedral in Washington, will be the new dean and rector at Lexington's historic Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral. She is the first woman to hold either position at the downtown church.

Wade will assume her new duties in September. Her selection was announced at both worship services at Christ Church on Sunday.

"I am overjoyed," Wade said in a telephone interview. "I cannot tell you how much I look forward to partnering with the wonderfully gifted people at the cathedral and working with the diocese, the people of Lexington and beyond.

I noticed the same strange bio but I only had the 2005 Edition. But then I checked the bio info in the Lexington and National websites and found no added info. Very strange, especially for one with such a meteoric advancement: priest to Dean in just 7 years!  In my military days, we called them “fast burners” and would know all about them.  Statmann     An afterthought: is someone without parents a true vegetarian?

I googled like crazy her name with the words “partner” “spouse” “lesbian” and finally “husband” and I found out, to my surprise, that she’s married. . . .(wait for it!) . . . . to a man!  (or someone identified as a husband, although the article did not include anatomical proof.)

Poor Christ Church.  I remember it from my youth when the diocese of Lexington was still a Christian entity.  Then came +Sauls…, and the rot continues.  I seriously doubt there’s an orthodox parish left in the diocese.

Judging from my past experience with one of Sauls’ priests, whose name I will not mention, when he was at my former parish in the Bay Area, I’m quite sure there are in fact no orthodox parishes in the Diocese of Lexington.
