So, this is the second time I’ve run across this video in the last couple of days. Can anybody vouch that this wasn’t just a put on, that the woman isn’t an actress?

I find it hard to believe anyone who could operate a phone is actually that stupid…

I agree.  I listened to it and I still can’t believe that it wasn’t an act.  But if it was an act, it was a good one.

I ran it through some of my sound software (I’m a radio/sound editing nerd), and I was hearing some weird ambient noise in the background in low frequencies, like it has been edited or something. That makes me suspicious.

I had a similar reaction, but a couple of my friends vouched for it and i am overwhelmed with other commitments.  If anyone finds anything, please post a comment.

Well, all I can say is that, if this isn’t a put-on, the lady was either smoking the wrong stuff or she was under the impression that deer are somehow attracted to deer crossing signs.  It is entertaining, though.

Snopes.com did a piece on it. They stopped short of saying it was a put-on, but did point out a actual “letter to the editor,” written toungue in cheeck, a couple of years ago. This letter made the rounds pretty widely, including a reading on Leno. They included a few lines about/from the author of the letter.

Sometimes truth does imitate art, but my bet is that this is repackaging a very funny comic bit for a different medium.
