Butler played hard, but Indiana more than anything else just plain lost that game.

It was a gritty effort by Butler, though, with two of their best players finishing the game on the bench.

I agree, yeah.  But:

Was it just before the end of regulation when the Indiana player rebounded a missed shot and was falling out of bounds and he passed off to the teammate who turned before he had a handle on the ball?  That was the moment where I knew Indiana wasn’t going to pull it out, even though they tied it up and went to OT with Butler having two guys fouled out.  Great, elite teams would have made that pass work and Clark Kellog or whomever was calling the game would have raved about athleticism.  Teams that are undisciplined, they drop the ball and commit a turnover and go on to lose the game due to similar mistakes.
