Nigerian Bishop urges christians to be born-again

Bishop Enyindah, in his sermon with the theme, “Salvation has come to our land,” drew the biblical encounter of Zacheaus, the tax collector with Jesus Christ at Jerusalem, saying that God is prepared to forgive those who repent and confess their sins like Zacheaus.

He noted that Zacheaus’ encounter with Jesus paved way for his new life and asked Christians to embrace Christ for turn around in their lives.

Kendall didn’t do it! Neither did the elves!  That’s how it reads on the website for this newspaper.  Apparently they know better because “Christian” was properly capitalized throughout the text of the article.

Yeah, well, there are a lot of people going by the name/title ‘Christian’ who have NEVER made a committment to following Jesus as their Lord and Savior, (apart from renewing their baptismal vows at Easter) what our Baptist brethren call ‘being born-again’.

I think it is an important distinction to make and an important message to preach.
