I thought that McGreevey was enrolled in a nonordination track at GTS.  Is his ordination a fait accompli?  He has to be approved by a diocesan bishop and then graduate in three years.  Did I miss something?

Surely you know by now that the media *never* get it right when it comes to issues (in either direction) of the Episcopal Church.  Did I say that the media *never* get it right?

Even if a demoncrat was quoted, it doesn’t mean that either the demoncrat knew what s/he was talking about or that the media quoted accurately (never knew the media to misquote before - not!).  Anyone who knows so little about who we are or how we operate as to make a reference to the “Episcopalian” denomination or to an “Episcopalian” priest shouldn’t be assigned to the story in the first place.

Where are there words in American to describe the kind of unprincipled creature we are dealing with here? The proper level of condemnation would bring the elves down like a thunderstorm. And the seminary? What can they be thinking? That he is reformed and repentent? Surely, this is not possible?
Those of you who know the seminary, tell me, is it full of homosexuals with whom McGreevery will find himself quite at home? Is that the real reason why he has been accepted so seamlessly? Every once in a while I absolutely hunger and thirst to have the hand of God reach down and smite a thorough low life, and that’s the case here. LM

It is almost as if the Episcopal Church is straining to be known as THE Gay Church. It is a title it is welcome to embrace on its way to history’s graveyard

McGreevy is not in the ordination process, he is not a postulant, and he is not at General to become a priest.  It is my understanding that he has moved to an M.A. program in theology, not the M.Div program.  I can honestly say I have no idea what was going through the mind of the dean.  Honestly, I can’t imagine.  I suspect he is there in an attempt to rehabilitate his image, but who knows.  I don’t know his heart and will leave that to God.

The media got it wrong, but too many people in the media no longer care about making sure they are correct.  In this kind of case, it is the sensation they hope to generate to make a name for themselves.

Matos McGreevey, who is now locked in a contentious divorce proceeding with her estranged husband, said the relationship was over once he came out. She said she is moving on, even dating, but has lasting issues trusting others.

“It’s very painful to know that you’ve been betrayed by the person you love, the person you trust,” she said. “And it’s equally painful when you have the rest of the world, who doesn’t know what you’re feeling, what your relationship is like, criticizing you for taking certain actions.”

See also previous postings from ‘way back when, when +Sisk (Bishop of NY) and the Rector of his parish corrected a very misleading—even incorrect—news article which stated he was on ordination track. He is not.
RE: The woes of Jim McG and Matos McG—surely the stuff of The Inquirer, eh? I’m sorry for both of them.
