Orombi spokeswoman Alison Barfoot said the archbishop had called Guernsey to lead 33 congregations in the United States that will recognise the Church of Uganda's authority.
"He's an ecclesiastical refugee," she told Reuters by telephone from the ceremony, referring to Guernsey.
"We thought the crisis in the Anglican Church would be resolved by now. We expected the Episcopal Church to repent ... but they have prolonged the crisis."

Parishes under the care of the Southern Cone have no US bishop. Will there be another consecration? September 2, 4:05 pm | [comment link] |

Jeff, that’s the one I have been thinking of, the Southern Cone. ++Greg Venables has been assisted in the United States by a senior bishop retired from ECUSA. I’ve been watching to see if and when ++Greg makes his move to consecrate the next generation evangelical to participate in North American leadership. I read somewhere that ++Venables is scheduled (I don’t know when) to end his term as primate of the Southern Cone. I would expect him to consecrate someone before that. |

Alison Barfoot says it all in these words, “This is not about sexuality, it’s about scripture. The leadership of the Anglican church has hijacked us to a faith that does not represent Biblical Christianity.” Alison expresses the matter plainly. “The leadership of the Anglican church” certainly include ++Rowan, but many Americans continue to hold out hope that he will set his personal leanings aside and fully affirm the Church’s unequivocal teaching.
