Well, judging by the initial media response, the statement released Tuesday night falls short of ‘clear and unambiguous,’” noted respected theologian Dr. R. Albert Mohler, the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and one of America’s pre-eminent evangelical leaders.

Whoops!  a) it was a commitment only to “exercise restraint” (insofar as it was a commitment at all); b) it applied only to bishops and said nothing at all about other apostolic orders.

Other than that, the dear old BBC is quite right…
