Hi. Thanks for posting so much about the Holy Father. I'm home sick with the flu so got to watch a lot of the activities.
It was absolutely transcendent and transforming. It occurred to me that he was talking to US too, those of us who are in ordained ministry. I think he's done more for spreading the Gospel in these few days than most denominational heads do in a lifetime.

I have missed alot of the coverage of the Pope’s visit. I did catch the last few minutes of the mass from St. Patrick’s Cathedral. At the very end, he reminded all that St. Peter was a sinner with faults, yet God chose him to be the rock of His church. Benedict then confessed his own spiritual poverty, amazed that God would choose him to be a successor to St. Peter, and thanked all for their prayers. In his humility, Benedict spoke a deep truth and was truly an example for us all to follow. April 20, 1:38 pm | [comment link] |

I agree 100%. When have you heard anything from +KJS that even remotely talked about the need for Christ, or openly proclaiming the Gospel? Instead we get discussions on the MGDs, or about cows and methane and the need for an eco-friendly Easter. My wife and I watched some of the proceedings live, and we got to hear some of the homilies, and they were wonderful. It made us stop and think about what happens to a denomination like TEC when the Gospel does not get openly proclaimed - mouthing the words during the Eucharist does not count, especially when gender neutral words are used, or you get drivel like “Godself” or Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. You need the leadership to be unafraid to say Jesus is the way and the truth and life. Sadly we don’t, and so we have the current mess we are in.
