I suppose what stands out for me is how much further in ecumenical relationships with the Orthodox and Catholic churches ACNA is getting than the rest of us.

Pageantmaster, could it be that there is actually a benefit in orthodoxy?

The impression is given by Resolution 3 that AC/NA has established Ecumenical Relations with the entire Orthodox Church, that could not be further from the truth. What in fact they are engaged in are relations with the OCA, who do not speak for or represent the entire Orthodox Church.

RMBruton,
Please read the resolution - throughout it the reference is made explicitly to the OCA. We are also very careful to not presume to speak for ACNA - The resolution only references the Diocese of Fort Worth and our desire to pursue ecumenical relations with the OCA. The only mentions of the ACNA is incidental to Metropolitan Jonah’s invitation.

Fr. Cantrell,
It is not the Diocese of F.W. speaking for AC/NA that concerns me so much as the false impression that the OCA speaks for the entire Orthodox Church.

RMBruton, the resolution doesn’t proclaim that the OCA is speaking for the entire Orthodox Church. I hope you will allow that the OCA *does* speak for the OCA, which is all that’s said here.

Oh dear - it’s my fault - I should have said Orthodox Church in America in #1 rather than Orthodox.  I know that the Orthodox churches are different and the divisions between some can be miles wide.
