New York Bishop and the Presiding Bishop issue statements on Occupy Wall Street

Posted by Kendall Harmon

Read them both.

I was interested to see the AP describe the Presiding Bishop's remarks as "a rare comment on a local issue."

Hmm, well-written responses that make sense. I hope that the Occupiers don’t push the envelope and “seize” the property. No one likes to call the police on people—the results of that are unpredictable and the pictures can provoke more problems.

“Trinity Church has provided extensive pastoral care…”

I wonder how much pastoral care they offered to the police who are having to deal with all this nonsense?

#3, from their previous service during 9/11, probably whatever is needed. We can say a lot about Trinity Wall Street but something that can’t be denied is how much they and St. Paul’s offered the First Responders and rescue crews for a long time after the attacks. Fair is fair.
