Here is the entry in the Catholic encyclopedia William of Rochester . Although William is the patron of adopted children, I wonder if he should not be the patron saint of adoptive parents. Prayers and peace to the Cavalcanti family. They took the risk of loving a deeply troubled young person and have paid with their lives - truly Christ-like. Rest eternal grant to them. Huge prayers—so tragic and hard to believe. I never met Mrs. Cavalcanti, but knew the bishop to be very courageous and devout. He was also a most kind listener at Hope and a Future in ‘05; his encouragement at that time was deeply appreciated. God keep them both…
