Interesting—and surprisingly even-handed.  The reporter seemed genuinely interested in getting out a story rather than mocking the group, which is refreshing.  Journalists (of all political stripes) seem to be more interested these days in pushing their perspectives and prejudices down our throats.

I’m glad I watched this.  The writer Dorothy Sayers said “we have efficiently pared the claws of the Lion of Judah (and) certified him as a fitting household pet for pale cyrates and old ladies.”  The notion of Jesus as a good man who just wants us to be nice to each other, is the essence of the what has gotten TEC in the mess it is in right now.  Jesus wears a crown, but to get it he must first bear the cross.

Wow! Amazing story. The feminization of the church has been a disaster in countries like Sweden where about 1% of the population now attends services on any given Sunday. Do we want that to happen in the U.S.?

Huge contrast with TEC, where the target demographic is 50-65 year-old female baby boomers.

The model of being a man that Jesus embodied is quite striking - no false choice of meek or fierce, gentle or forceful. vulnerable of tough.

Groups like this - and the PROMISEKEEPERS & John Eldridge - seem so fixed in our current day model of patriarchy & masculinity.

I always think of the two movies from the ‘50’s that really speak to what a “Christian MAN” is like:  The Robe and Demitrius and the Gladiators.  I encourage everyone interested in the subject to check these two movies out (warning: contains Hollywood syrup).
